I went to the National Gallery in London last week and spent some time in the room containing paintings by Antony Van Dyke. Now I must confess that I am fascinated by the Stuart period in English history and have been since reading historical novels as a teenage. Therefore, I am always drawn to the paintings of Van Dyke because he was the Court Painter at that time.
Today is the birthday of Charles 1st born 19th November 1600.

On many occasions I have written about My Faithful Four Legged Friend and guess what..........she is of course a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
It's funny how the pieces of life fit together so nicely, sometimes.
